The connective tissue structures that surround muscles, tendons and organs are called fascia. They support the body by enveloping the structures mentioned and running through the whole body like a net. If the fascia is stuck together - for example due to non-use of joints/muscles, this can lead to pain. With targeted pressure and movement, the fascia are brought back into function.
